[ Business Trip: BUF/IAH ]

Bob the pilot has wings but no wonder,
just license, swing bands & blue Jersey.
I should have kissed the wife goodbye.

Charleston gone like a hotheaded brother
but earth leaves me cold so I bundle up,
think of the land down under & apple–

smooth thighs of American groceries,
of China’s past & fire in the west–if I
closed eyes I’d be home by now but

look ahead to Houston, a huge worn-
out shoe & me just the sole for the job.
